yummy, even for wimps
I got this at HEB this week from the little chef station they have set up in the middle of the store. It's usually wierd, seafood stuff, so I veer away from the area. But this time I happened to get too close and the guy asked if I wanted any chili. That sounds pretty normal to me, sure! It was so good! Jackson ate a whole bowl! Ok, it was a sample sized bowl, but this is impressive anyway. I am a big wimp when it comes to hot or spicy food, and thankfully Jason is too. So Jackson and I made it tonight. Here's what we did:
1. Brown ground beef.
2. Add jar of chili, simmer until hot.
3. Eat

What a week...
Let's just start at the beginning, shall we? It starts off well enough...
Monday- Jason leaves for Colorado. Until next Monday.
Tuesday- drop Jackson off @ school. Peace. Later that cold evening- heater goes out.
Wednesday- wake up numb, heating guy shows up. Bless him! Chick-fil-a with friends, melt down on the way home from Jackson ( he wasn't done with his chocolate milk ).
Thursday- Get a call from preschool, an hour after drop off, that Jackson has a 99' temp and doesn't feel good. Comes home, does some "business" and is fine. Upset that he missed his Valentine Party. We go back to frost cupcakes.
Friday- Spend a long afternoon at the park. Came home for a snack. Cooper vomits everywhere. Seems better that night but is up whimpering and restless.
Saturday- Rains cats and dogs, stuck in the house with one sick kid and one hyper kid. The house is a disaster. But no more vomiting.
Sunday- Enjoying early morning TV while Jackson sleeps in! Cooper is too quite in the next room. Fingerpainting with POO on the wood floor!!! Clean baby, disinfect floor, do laundry, take another shower. Later he vomits. And again.
Jason gets home tomorrow night, late. Lets hope he can bring back some good luck or karma or energy or whatever it is that he took with him!

Another book down the hatch!
My brain is buzzing with activity! Two books in two months- this is a record people! Of course, there have been sacrifices. Laundry is taking up large corner of my bedroom, there is enough food under Cooper's highchair for a whole meal, eyebrows need plucking, and we have no food in the fridge. Ok, who are we kidding, those things never get taken care of anyway, but now I have an intellectual excuse. So there.
Here is the latest, another historical fiction, but with a twist- the author actually lived during the time she writes about, WWII, and ends up being killed in Auschwitz. The book never got finished. A bit hard to wrap your mind around that concept.
Busy weekend
*I got a new laptop this weekend and I looooove it!! Our other one was so slooooooooow and begging us to put it out of it's misery. It couldn't even keep up with the speed of typing. Yeah.

*We wrapped of the weekend with some biking and skateboarding in the park. I love that it is near 80' in February. Love it.
I got blue.
So, I am hoping I will be more inspired to do some digital scrapbooking, as hopefully it won't take me 2 hours to complete one page!
*All the "boys" got haircuts this weekend too. It was Cooper's first. Time to lose the mullet. Fluff on top, long in the back. He was getting mistaken for a girl even with construction themed outfits on...He did great, and of course looks like a "real little boy" now, not just a baby. Sigh. We did manage to keep some of his signature fluff, though!

*On a less fun note, Jason flew out this morning to Denver for work. He will be gone a whole week. Calgone take me away! Jackson was in a lovely mood driving home from the airport. Trying to soften the mood I asked him if he already missed Daddy. "No, I just wanted to get on that airplane".
