Scrappin' It

Jason took Jackson all day Saturday for a "guy day"- breakfast at the Shady Grove downtown, tailgating at U.T. and exploring our friends ranch in San Marcos. Cooper got to hang out with Aunt Peace, and totally wear her out. I got to go and scrap for 6 hours straight. So fun hanging out and talking/eating/scrapping. Thanks Karen for being such a great hostess!

And one more project that I didn't around to finishing ( did I mention the talking and eating ? ), but here is a sneak peak...

Extreme Makeover- Wreath Edition

Not long after Jason and I were married, his mom treated me to one of her custom wreaths. She is known near and far for her wreaths! It was fun going to Hobby Lobby together and picking out all the stuff. She went home and put it all together, and I got to hang it on my door! I love it. Thanks Sandra! It has been on my front door (s) for probably the last 6 years during fall/halloween. It has seen quite a few trick or treaters...

After being enlightened with the Nester's tips ( yes I am obsessed ) and P.O.O.P.I.E awareness, I felt it was time to revamp my trusty wreath. It was overloaded with P.O.O.P.I.E offensive materials and it was getting a bit droopy... I don't think I could ever pull off one of her wreaths, but I can drool.

Before: Remember, we are examining the WREATH. I think Jackson had a poopie of his own going on...what's up with that expression?

( I'd just like to note that if you look closely, my fingernails are painted.
So much spare time then! But we are looking at the wreath! )
After: Same 6 year old P.O.O.P.I.E. picks from Hobby Lobby-just all stuffed together. I added the pumpkins, nest, and a feathery looking thing. Probably spent about $5. Yes!

The Munchkins

I suspect a few Grandma's might be needing a sugar fix...

Love this idea from Martha Stewart and the Glitter Lady. So many projects, so little time...

P.O.O.P.I.E

According to the Nester, that stands for People Opposing to Objectional Pretend plants In the Environment. Say that ten times fast... Go to her site to get the whole story!

Anyway, the point is OBJECTIONAL, not pretend. She is all for fake flowers and such, as she advocates craftyness, not being broke.

So here is my P.O.O.P.I.E project, I am just hoping it is more on the "fake can be great" side than objectional...

Could it be??

Is fall around the corner? This morning we played at the park and my car said it was 82'. What? AND there was a breeze! It is now 1:30 and 88'. I loooove fall. The kids can spend hours digging and running with out the danger or heat exhaustion or dehydration! It's the little things...

Not to mention I get to get out all my fall decor. I have so many new cute ideas thanks to my blog surfing at crafty sites. Here are a few sites with autumnal inspiration:

Cute Fabric Pumpkins here @ Sunshine In My Soul. I wonder if I can skip the sewing and break out the hot glue gun??

Candy Corn Garland @ Susie Harris Designs. Yummy-I mean cute!

Spooky Skull @ Joys of Home This made me laugh, so quirky!

Halloween Garland @ Lemon Annie. I can use up my Halloween scrapbook stuff that I hoard. Check out her Pumpkin Tower too, a great family project!

Boo Pumpkins @ Bless Our Nest. Very clever, digging out my sharpie marker...

Now I just need to find the time to do all this!
